The Swanson brothers in Australia designed and built serious offshore cruising yachts. The Swanson 42 is a canoe sterned, three quarter encapsulated keel yacht with heavy displacement and offers safe and secure sailing.

'Ulah' has a secure helm position under the rigid dodger and the two quarter berths, each with a fitted lee cloth, aside the companionway in the doghouse are excellent off watch berths. The yacht as a whole gives the impression of safety and security.

Powered by the very popular NanniDiesel 4.220HE with twin disc Techno drive gearbox , installed in 2003, which adds further to this yacht's reliability.

Full forward is a workshop with 240VAC and 12VDC outlets, bench, vice, electric tools and many hand tools. A LEMAIR fully automatic washing machine is sited in here. Moving aft then into the large bathroom with electric head on the starboard side and sink and retractable shower opposite.

The saloon has a raised table and seating to starboard with an opposing settee. The fitout is varnished teak, white painted deckheads with varnished cross beams and hardwood planking soles with carpet overlays. Plenty of natural light and ventilation from ports and hatches and there are 12VDC and 220VAC fans throughout. A new MIDEIA domestic aircon (2014) for marina use. A bulkhead mounted kerosene cabin heater for colder climes.

To starboard of the companionway steps is a large top loading fridge/freezer with a radio station above. Aft and to starboard again is the guest cabin which also houses a portable 12 volt, 60 litre, WAECO fridge/freezer.

To port of the companionway steps is the galley and an aft passage leads to the forward facing chart table then the aft cabin.

The yacht has a JVC stereo system, UX-DM8 AND A TV for DVD's with additional speakers.

Double stainless steel sink with hot and cold water. Kerosene two burner stove and oven. Electric oven/toaster and a microwave. Good fiddled countertops.

The yacht's AC system is 240 VAC, shore power inlet and cable, 30 amp battery charger and various outlets throughout the yacht. 1KVA HONDA petrol genset.

DC system is 12VDC. House bank is 4 x 100 amp batteries (new 2014). Engine start battery was also new in 2014. 1 KVA inverter. DC charging from 2 X 80 WATT solar panels c/w STELA PR1515 solar regulator.
